About Debb

Howdy!  Howdy is the official greeting of my alma mater, Texas A&M where I graduated with a psychology degree followed by a master’s degree in counseling from Texas A&M at Corpus Christi. "Howdy" extends a warm whole-hearted welcome to everyone (aka all y’all).

I help organizations leverage their greatest assets, their people!  With over 20 years experience as a counselor, educator, facilitator, leadership trainer, and curriculum designer, I am an executive resource for people and organizations wanting to expand their potential, create positive growth, and lead with courage. Clients routinely seek my guidance to help them take action to drive powerful results.

As a Certified Dare To Lead™ and Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, I have completed the extensive prerequisites, studies, and training required by the Brené Brown Education and Research Group (BBERG) and join a group of professionals who facilitate and train people in the work of the renowned research leader, Dr. Brené Brown. Her work is highlighted by New York Times best-selling books, Dare to Lead, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, Gifts of Imperfection, and upcoming new release, Atlas of the Heart (November 2021).

I deliver keynote presentations, workshops, trainings, and retreats helping people align themselves, their teams, and organizations around goals to connect, engage, do brave work, dig into tough conversations, define culture, and lead with heart. I have spent the last ten years as an adjunct trainer with the Center for Creative Leadership facilitating workshops with multi-generational audiences. Tune into WCNC’s Charlotte Today Show to see me sharing ideas and tips.

I am honored and grateful to lead Rotary District 7680 as District Governor 2023-24. As a 17 year Rotarian, I balance work with giving back by serving in the community and abroad with the Rotary Club of Mecklenburg County-South and Rotary District 7680. My Rotary endeavors and service projects have taken me to Peru and Tanzania, highlighted with the inaugural Rotary District 7680 Kilimanjaro climb for Polio Plus. I am a Past Board Chair for Girls on the Run of Union County and the current training director for Seminar for Tomorrow’s Leaders, a leadership development scholarship program for teens.

Outside of work, you might spot me at a baseball game, hiking the nearest mountain trails with my Australian Shepards, enjoying Scout and Cellar wine with friends, or relaxing at the beach.
